I'm in a spiritual rut.
Updated: Aug 6, 2022
Let's get out of this together.
5 signs you may be in a rut & a challenge to join me in 5 days of prayer.

Last November, I felt on fire for the Lord. I read the Bible constantly, I listened to worship music on every car ride. Ideas for artwork and blog posts seemed never ending. God had never seemed more present in my life. I felt the "peace that surpasses understanding." But in the last month, I've been feeling different.
The great news, however, is that God is unchanging no matter how we are *feeling.* His silence is not an absence of His presence. He is there waiting on you to run back to Him. He wants a relationship with you.
Here are 5 ways to know you may be in a spiritual rut:
#1 - You're not in the Word as much
Or if you are, it feels obligatory. It's less about truly understanding, and more about checking off a box on your to-do list.
#2 - Your prayers are short and repetitive
You're covering the bases, but you're not truly seeking a deeper connection with the Lord. You say short prayers in request of something, or in thanks, but you are spending more time scrolling on your phone.
“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise…If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” - James 5:13-16
#3 - You're not going to church, or you're not as excited as you used to be
Whether you are in the building on Sunday or at home, your sense of excitement has dulled.
#4 - You feel like God is distant
He hasn't moved, you have.
#5 - You're reading this post
The fact that you are here means that you know you want to spend more time with God, and you want that sense of excitement and closeness with Him back.
5 Day Prayer Challenge Invitation:
Starting Monday, I will be sharing a prayer daily. I am trusting that God put it on my heart so that it will give us a starting place in getting back on track in our faith.
